When I was little, I used to make myself paper “tickets,” and pretend that I was in some exotic country (like the Philippines or China) for 1-2 weeks. During those weeks, I would read everything I could find about the culture, language, food, and missionaries that worked there.

Who says you can’t have soup in the summertime?

Well, I used to, until my mom made this once when I went to their house. Even though it’s hot outside, this soup is still too good to be confined to just the wintertime. Besides, it’s actually good cold as well, so give it a try!

When things turn out different…

Sometimes things do not turn out the way we expect them to. And when this happens around major holidays like Christmas, the reality seems to hit harder.

I’ve written here before about learning to see the gifts–learning to see differently, through eyes of gratitude, even when circumstances are less than ideal. Learning to see the beauty even in the most dire circumstances.

Thanksgiving recipe ideas for you…

So, I had intended to do a whole series of blog posts regarding food for Thanksgiving.

Well, sometimes life just gets busy. I’ll just have to save those posts for later (well, hopefully sooner than later!).

For now, here are some of my go-to recipes that would be great for sharing with your loved ones. I’m bringing a few of them to my own family’s gathering this year 🙂
